My Bio

Erica Garland is a proud mom, an aviation professional, and a 16-year Denton resident who has built her life in the same community she now seeks to serve.

While raising her children, Erica balanced long work hours, school activities, and household responsibilities, building a career in aviation - determined to achieve the dream of homeownership. She understands firsthand the pressures many families feel today: rising housing costs, property taxes, infrastructure needs, and the challenge of making ends meet while planning for the future. Denton isn’t just where she lives - it’s where she raised her family, built stability, and found community.

Erica began her aviation career at Denton Enterprise Airport, one of the busiest general aviation airports in Texas, and now works for a major U.S. airline in Dallas. Her professional background gives her a strong understanding of economic development, workforce growth, and how local infrastructure decisions impact jobs and long-term opportunity.

Her commitment to service led her to serve on the Airport Advisory Board and the Planning & Zoning Commission, where she made thoughtful, citywide decisions - not for special interests, but for the good of the entire community. In those roles, she worked to balance responsible growth with neighborhood protection, ensuring development decisions considered traffic, drainage, safety, and long-term sustainability.

Erica believes local government should be steady, transparent, and focused on people - not politics. She brings practical experience, a working mom’s perspective, and a deep love for Denton to the table.
